Black Sqaures

Black Squares Part A

Using simple shapes and space to communicate and convey the meaning of words:

Black squares Part B

Order

I chose this because the layered squares of the page give the order to the story it telling.
Give an order to the layout.

Increase

I choose this because seeing this the first thing to draw you in are the large feet needing to follow from increase to decrease.

Bold

I chose this image because the striking bold black page pulled you in near hit you in the face making you take a look at the images within the bold capital text layout.

Congested

I chose this images because there are so many triangles on the page it hard to know what one to look at making the layout of the page seem congested, over loaded.

Tension

I chose this image because the straight lines are so tight together pulling in to the text and almost squishing the text within.

Playful

I chose this image because it is visually exciting with all the colour playing with each other, the twists and turns make this visually playful.

Typographic Portraits

Typographic Portraits (My name is....)

The task of our first design assessment was to use our name and try to creatively render our names in into each nameplate.
Thinking about style, weight, size, letter-spacing and case of the letter characters.

My name is  _  and I am a chameleon.
My name is _ and I have the hiccups.
My name is _ and I am a gender illusionist.
My name is _ and I am a truck driver.
My name is _ and I have a headache.
My name is _ and I am a _ [make up your own]

So much fun, and plenty of laughs.
This was a great way to test your imagination.

Inspired by

What am I inspired by?

My Kikki k planners are what started the inspiration for BubbleGum Stickers.
The designs of the simple watermelon made me create my first planner kit.

One of our local Tasmanian talented tattoo artist’s, Creating beautiful art pieces for someone's skin, and also amazing paintings.
The colour used to create the water colour effect are inspiring!

My beloved partner draw this image for me,
With all that he has struggled in life to get his artwork/tattoos out there, he ever gives up.
He inspires me with his will and art work.

My mum although she may not be here anymore her voice and encouragement still play in my head.
She inspires me to be the mother I am.

Although we were asked for a graphic designer that inspires us, I can not give one.
I have never really looked into the world of graphic design and find my self at a loss for a graphic designer.
The only designer that I have is someone that designs the planner that I was also inspired to make stickers for.

Erin Condren,
Her planners inspire women all around the world to have not just planners or diaries but beautiful creations to mark and remember our days, weeks and years.
